Foundation Supports International Forum
Beijing – The Fifth Beijing International Forum on Rehabilitation was held October 28th to November 1st. Jointly sponsored by the China Rehabilitation Research Center and the Norwegian Health and Rehabilitation Association, the forum is the largest international conference on Rehabilitation Medicine in China. For the third year the Cheng Health Foundation has actively participated in the forum, including sponsorship of two featured speakers.
The foundation was represented at the forum by Drs. Timothy and Meng Roe, who also participated in the opening of the Medical Rehabilitation Specialist Clinic. In addition, Dr. Timothy Roe gave a presentation on Quality Management in Rehabilitation and spoke at the closing ceremonies.
The foundation also supported the participation of Drs. Carl Granger and Gary Wong of the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation/State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Granger spoke on the use of the FIM System in Medical Rehabilitation, while Dr. Wong presented preliminary findings on the use of FIM in Sichuan Province. Dr. Wong’s participation in the forum was supported in part by a grant from the foundation.
About Our Foundation The Cheng Health Foundation is working to enhance the health of people living in the US and other countries through education, international cooperation, and direct assistance to life science organizations. We rely on a dedicated volunteer team of healthcare professionals for many of our activities.
Our current efforts are focused on promoting the development of medical rehabilitation in China, and improving cooperation between rehabilitation medicine professionals in China and the US. We have partnered with the China Rehabilitation Research Center and Honolulu’s Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific to advance our efforts.
